July 2020 Thread
Fortunately, I'm a couple of miles outside the city limits AND in another county. I've long watched Helena become more liberal and woke over the years. In fact, over a decade ago I called it the "Berkeley of the Rockies." At last night's city council meeting, the commissioners voted to reduce the police department's budget for next year. They'll find/fund more social programs instead of filling the 4 empty officer billets.
I never used to be able to hear the city's toilet flush, but it's coming in loud and clear now.

I'm still trying to figure out the big picture end game with all of this. On one hand the left has been saying that the 2A isn't interpreted correctly, we need less freedom in that, and the police can handle everything. Now they're wanting the police defunded or abolished altogether.
Knowing that communists play the long game, I'm wondering if this is a tactical decision to "show" that we need to disarm the citizens and bring in the police state on a greater scale after all of this inevitably blows up into more bloodshed.

Definitely playing a long game some of it goes back for centuries. We battle Satan in reality not this crude flesh and blood so that long game is millennia old. Recall Biden said once we need another high profile shooting to further the cause. It really isn’t too unlike something George Lucas made during the prequels. Pit two sides against each other. Call an emergency. Prolong the emergency till the sheep cry out for protection offering their rights in exchange for safety.

Thinking about when Jesus impressed those in the temple when he was teaching there at 12 years old. Were any of them around 20 years later when Jesus returned? And if so, did they remember him?

During the summer, the wife and I sleep in a bedroom in the walk-out basement. 5-7 degrees cooler.

COVID Alert..........
If you have a couple of minutes, check out www.mikerowe.com (yeah, the Dirty Jobs guy). Look at his 7/22 post, titled "I'm not ignoring COVID." Very, very interesting.

Re: July 2020 Thread
Today, I had a crane come to my place to give me a hand with my sailboat (dropped the retractable keel). It was a lot more work than I thought it would be, but the guy was very helpful. Afterwards, he said I looked familiar. Turns out that his first Navy deployment with a helo detachment was on my first ship. We were even in boot camp at the same time and recognized each other's company commander names. Small world. He went on to a long career as well, and was in Iran a few days before the embassy rescue team landed in the desert. After the mission was aborted, he was injured during the evacuation crashes. Had to leave the EOD community after that.
