JEBI Or WCO
Hey guys. I have a few options for training this year and I need to decide what to do. The district is offering WCO in march and the JEBI in conjunction with the regional conference in April.
Have any of you been to either and would you reccomendations one over the other?

I think that Dan Bennett and Mark Jones will be your best sources for information. They've probably got more R/R Schools under their belts than the rest of us, combined.

Re: JEBI Or WCO
I've done Ranger Basics, Ranger Essentials, NRMC, and WCO. Out of all of those, WCO was my least favorite. I haven't done JEBI, so I can't compare those two directly, but WCO seemed like a waste of time to me....

Re: JEBI Or WCO
Any training you take is better than no training. GRIN! Ok having said that.
WCO was written by someone that had a full time job being a Ranger Leader that got paid to do that and nothing else. GRIN! It also has a lot of Psyco stuff in it. Lots of schedules, calendars, planning, meetings........
I think I took JEBI several years ago and thought it was interesting.
Bottom line. Show me a piece of coal that has a heart for Royal Rangers and I will show you a diamond. Show me a diamond that is luke warm about Royal Rangers and I will show you a chunk of coal.
It's all in the heart. If they have a heart for it. It will be a daily path. Good intentions only bring forth a lot of hot air. Yet Someone that is walking a path on the Royal Ranger Ministry line will shine like the brightest diamond.
Only God knows what's in the heart. We can see the fruits.
It goes back to James in the Bible. I will show you my faith by my works. Yet works with out faith is dead.
Take as much training as you can. I will say the old training of the LTC was much more fun and exciting but it was the Johnny Barnes program. I long for those days. Today our training is about "Life Long Servant Leaders" just not a lot there of any real interest or excitement to be teaching...
Where we used to teach ropecraft, firecraft, toolcraft, camping, lashing, map and compass, nature study year in and year out and some derby stuuf and then weave it all around Jesus and His Church. It was fun and interesting. (don't tell anyone but I am still doing it)

I was thinking Johnny Barnes Initiatives Elective. Perhaps...I am once again mistaken. My path I follow... GRIN! It was once called Legacy.

Just kidding................
Kind-of like, back in Special Forces. We said that the Government would take care of us.
If things got too rough, they would send us an Aerial Resupply....................

Re: JEBI Or WCO
Imagine that I had nothing to do with of this thread. Carry on
Btw, on TOPIC hmm WCO was a waste of time except for meeting the Mansfields! I think JEBI is Jbei. I never got to take that but meh don't matter now does it. Enjoyed NTC and NRMC wasn't too bad. RKTC was a blast!
Mark is right personality exams are not what we need. We need "heart".

I would agree. Best part off WCO was getting to meet Dan in person!
