Re: Culture Rot
And to dispel any doubt that Chase Morgan Bank is an ally of the LGBT lobby, every time you use an ATM you'll be reminded of it. In some markets, Burger King is selling "mystery" burgers wrapped in rainbow paper. When you open it up, there's a note that says "we're all the same inside."
This will only stop when they lose more straight patronage and money than the gay-facists threaten them with.

Re: Culture Rot
Anyone who notices ads on tv will see gays featured. Teddygrams and Hotwire feature gay couples in family settings like its normal. The last ten years or more we see the "normalization" of LGBT into media via shows, ads, and retailers. Lately, the reality shows feature several polyamorous and polygamous families in a positive light. In another ten years we'll have polyamory and polygamy shoved on us too.

Re: Culture Rot
In case you don't know who Richard Dawkins is, he is considered to be the world's foremost atheist, writing and travelling extensively. He was featured in Ben Stein's documentary, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. In one scene, he was caught in a losing argument and resorted to relying on extraterrestrial aliens to try and save himself.
Anyway, how did I miss one of his more outrageous statements? Back in September, he said there wasn't anything wrong with "mild pedophilia. Touching up is just fine." Perhaps that destroyed any credibility that he had with the left, but that's just wishful thinking. The leftist tent is big indeed, with plenty of room for diverse groups.
P.S. Who was the world's #1 atheist before Dawkins? It was Sir Anthony Flew, who announced that he was going to look at all the evidence on both sides. Took him a couple of years, but he published a letter and was promptly denounced. Why? Here's a quote from the letter: "I don't know if His name is Buddha, Jehovah, Allah, or something else, but I do know that there is a creator."

Lee Strobel was same way he used logical reasoning and investigation to conclude God is real.

A few years ago, I used Stroebel's "case" kids' books for a 5th and 6th grade class. They gobbled it up, highlighting portions and writing notes. The new guy wouldn't let me use them last year, but I'll try again for this fall.

Re: Culture Rot
He wanted to use a 46-year old workbook covering the AG's fundamental beliefs. I pointed out the differences between the older statements to today's, and the overwhelming amount of homework the workbook required. He found a newer (30 years old) version that was still out of synch and mandated it. This age group took an attendance hit, like all the other groups have because of his changes. We can only go up, providing he gets out of the way. The Missionette sponsors are still waiting for their promised meeting.

Our Pastor just gave a sermon about a Revival that he preached at. He said that in the podium was a 50-year-old ledger book, and he was looking through it, as he was preparing his sermon. It was several pages with single-lines with a column: "Date, Name, Reason". It was a roster of Disfellowship.
He recalled seeing one that was for a lady, and the reason was "Perm". She was kicked out of the Church for getting a Permanent Wave Haircut.
By the end of the Revival, everyone was celebrating that they had 60 persons in attendance at the church. He thought to himself, "If you still had those members that you'd kicked out & their families, you'd have three times that amount.

I told him we couldn't have girls memorizing the older statements for this class, and the newest statements for Missionettes. As it turned out, he tossed out the M'nette curriculum anyway.

Bruce, you've got more patience than I have.
If he was at my church, he would have THREE titles by now:
#1. Family Life Pastor
#2. Royal Rangers Senior Commander
#3. Missionettes Leader

Thing is, I've never prayed for it. (You know how that goes.) Maybe I've seen too much discord in the church over the years. The old "my way or the highway" thing has killed many a ministry. And sometimes you have to know which battle to fight.
I remember a new ship CO who told us one day, "I'm an aviator and have a lot more to learn about surface operations. You might have to tell me some day that you can't do something I tell you to do. If you do that, turn in your resignation within the hour. All the officers looked at each other with big eyes. A couple of months later, a situation came up and I told the Captain why I couldn't do what he wanted me to do. He snarled, "You mean you can't do it, or won't do it?" "Can't and won't", was my reply. "Okay, Bos'n. We won't do it."

Re: Culture Rot
The most memorable moment that I had of an Officer who would listen to reason was one day when our Team Commander (O-3) was in front of the Detachment, and said, "Here's what we're going to do" (it was operationally unworkable, we knew it, but didn't say anything).
The Team Sergeant (E-8 ) approached him and said, "Sir. Can I talk to you for a minute?"
We couldn't hear the conversation, but we could see a 5'8" Master Sergeant politely "explaining" to a 6'3" Captain, and the Captain's head nodding in agreement.
The Team Sergeant then returned to the back of the formation, and the Captain said, "OK. Here's what we're going to do....."

An Australian judge said this week it's time to decriminalize pedophilia. I had thought more highly of them. Now the local progressives/perverts have more ammo to use. I'm trying to think of some ordnance-type simile that would be like blowing up in their face. Wrong caliber for the barrel?

Re: Culture Rot
For those willing to accept a lie in order to live their lifestyle, there is now the "Queen James Bible". Not my name for it. The actual name for a Bible version that has tweaked 8 verses so that people don't know the God of the universe isn't LGBT-inclusive.
What's next? The "Pederast James Bible?" The "Killer James Bible?" The
"Philanderer James Bible?"

Re: Culture Rot
Oh, no! Say it ain't so, Joe. The captain of a cruiser deployed overseas was recently convicted of several violations. Turned out he stayed in his stateroom for weeks, missing a multitude of special evolutions that required his presence on the bridge. The XO was also observed cooking meals for him, her toiletries were in his bathroom, and they disappeared together for days when in port. Crewmembers notified the command master chief, who said he would report it, but never did. He got fired, too.
Seriously, I've lost track of all the senior officer scandals the last few years. Never used to be like this before. Beyond embarrassing. Personal integrity, honor to an oath, and leadership are all falling prey to our culture.

Stuff like general quarters, underway replenishment, sea and anchor detail. All are critical and require the CO's presence.

That's a heck of a priority to forsake a 25 year career climb for a 6-month fling.

He was an O-6. Probably allowed to retire and disappear. His command photo looks creepy. You can tell something's not right about him. Don't know if he was married, but the XO sure was (emphasis likely on "was").

A commission, which includes 3 retired flag officers, has recommended that the Pentagon allow transgendered people to openly serve in the military. SecDef also supports it. Obama is likely to enthusiastically rubber-stamp it.
In the olde days, it was wooden ships and iron men. That changed to iron ships and wooden men. Is it composite ships and people now?

A leading internet company whose software enables customers to block access to objectionable sites has made what they call "the right business decision." Customers can no longer block sites that are tied to sexual orientation. I know, none of us were going to look there anyway. But think of the tens of millions of public school kids that won't have a filter anymore. The Gay Mafia strikes again. Not satisfied with leaving a horse's head in your bed, they want to get in your kids' minds. Private school, homeschool, whatever it takes.
