January 2020 Thread
Well, it's a new year with the same old problems. I'm still awake, and not by choice. Extended family members are spending the night under my roof. I'm going to stay up for awhile in case my drunk nephew comes by looking for them. He's 45-ish and says all the right things...until he reaches for the demon-in-a-bottle.

Progressives who want to legalize addictive drugs cannot see the hand in front of their faces (alcohol). I am not a prude who says that anyone who has a glass of wine is a deprived drunkard, but this "legal recreational substance" has destroyed so many families and lives that, why in the world would liberal politicians want to release another "Genie" with this kind of destructive power into our society?
As a 22 year cop who worked mostly in Narcotics, I don't recall seeing any families that were made "better" by alcohol or drugs.

What I don't get is why they can't learn from lessons in the same family line. My in-laws were 100% proof (no pun intended) of the damage alcohol can do. I'm so thankful that on back-to-back nights of a revival meeting, both accepted Christ and were instantly healed of alcoholism. No counseling, no AA meetings, just the power of God. But no, each generation has to make their own mistakes.

It is interesting that the Bible WARNS about alcohol, but does not Rule Against it, except in cases of being a Nazirite (which is a temporary - normally 1 year - vow), and prior to going into the Tabernacle.
It is pretty evident that the Apostles drank wine, and early Christians remembrance of the Last Supper included wine, as St. Paul chastised those who came early and ate all of the food and over enbibed on the wine.
(...and don't give me that hooey about the stuff being non-alcoholic wine. It got Noah drunk enough that he was seen naked and cursed his children, and it got Lot drunk enough that he got his daughters pregnant. As a preacher once said to me, "...that stuff would knock you off your donkey").

We take out the Iranian mastermind behind Iraq unrest, hundreds of US casualties, and the recent embassy attack...and the Dems wet their pants. No matter what they say or want, peace will only come during the millennial reign. Until then, we protect ourselves. And share the Gospel with those who will listen.

Weren't those the same people who were criticizing Pres. Trump for not taking any hard action against Iran, when they shot down an unmanned Drone, and calling him indecisive & feckless?
(Just no pleasing SOME folks.)

Here's a prediction for the end of the year: Because they're perennially offended, liberals will demand that Santa switch to a blue outfit.

Alas even though both managers at our location supported me getting the Logistics Manager position, HQ decided to give it to a driver that works out of HQ. A guy who has less time in the company no less.
Ah well. If he louses it up, then maybe it will fall to me.

Watched "Pray For Rain" on Hulu last night, a movie made a couple of years ago. It was about a young woman's search for her father's murderer. The backstory was about how the environmentalists were running central CA farmers out of business. Definitely not a politically-correct movie.
I kept telling the wife, "I love this movie."

The view on I-90 is great from the Idaho border all the way east to Billings. After that it's just prairie. It's not for me, but some people like hundreds of miles of grass.

Re: January 2020 Thread
I, for one, am glad that President Trump went there. During his address this morning, reacting to the Iranian ballistic missile attack, he said that those weapons were paid for by the last administration. I'm sure that leftist heads exploded. I'm sure that CNN and the rest will rip Trump for saying it. But the truth has always been out there.
Then-Secretary of State John Kerry said, "I think that some of it (the $150 billion that Obama gave to Iran) will end up in the hands of the IRGC, or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists."
Reluctant Democrat voters, the truth will set you free.

If Only Trump could run 2024! The dems are so scared of a re-election of Trump cause Ginsburg has one leg in the grave already and there would be a shot of reversing Roe Vs Wade.

Oddly enough, I now find myself promoted to "Lead Driver" in charge of drivers at our location. I put together the routes for the drivers & fill in for driver vacations & sick days
I report to the above named fleet manager.

Maybe, think of yourself kinda like a Marine Lance Corporal. They have him training for the Position and practicing the Leadership Role, before they hand him the "Hard Stripe".

Back home after a few days with my newest grandchild, Anna Grace. The miracle of life is just that. Awesome to consider.
