Post by Canadarangers November 2nd 2016, 11:47 am

Well I am so glad all that non-sense about ghosts and goblins is over. I detest halloween. I don't know why the Protestant church (talking globally) doesn't celebrate even on some low level, the fact that it was on Oct 31, 1517 that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the church. Call it Reformation day.

It would be better then seeing "half dead" people walking around all day.

I contend that it's one of satan's big tools to minimize both God's and his power in people's minds. When you don't think there's much to the whole "spiritual world", then you get messed up coming and going. Christians walk into situations that open themselves up to the occult a lot because they don't recognize demonic power. They also don't have power over sin and sickness because they don't recognize God's power. It's sad.

When I was a kid, dressing for Halloween was simpler:

Ghosts: Too Lame

Cowboys: Politically Incorrect

Indians: Heavens, no!

Soldiers: Right-Winger

Podesta is Hillary's campaign manager, and his hacked e-mails have been leaked over the past week or so. One concerns his brother asking him if he's going to the "spirit dinner". That's a satanic cult practice involving one's own blood. There are also lots of e-mails to Podesta from various people stating how they're looking forward to visiting hot dog stands in various cities around the world. That's pedophilia-speak for sex with young girls.

When you add that to all the trips that Bill Clinton and others took to Epstein's island on the "Lolita Express", you come to the conclusion that the Democrat elites aren't just politically corrupt, they're morally corrupt.

Maybe I'm naive, but wouldn't you necessarily already be morally corrupt in order to be politically corrupt?

Thanks. Same back to you.

The school in the local town (Population 467) invited the veterans in the area to a very nice recognition service.

Chairs were set up on the floor of the gym for the vets, and the students were in the surrounding bleachers. They sang patriotic songs, there was a contest on the meaning of the Pledge to the Flag, and the two winners read theirs, the guest speaker was a 77 year-old Guardsman who was activated for the Cuban Missile Crisis, and they read off the names of deceased Vets from the area.

Then to the cafeteria for a light lunch & cake.

Nicer than what I got back in Milwaukee.

During my first year at my school, I was asked to speak at chapel. Since Veteran's Day was only a few days afterwards, my message was on answering the call to serve, in whatever arena God opened to you. I also said that I was going to stand on a nearby major intersection the next day and invited others to stand with me.

Over 40 students came with American flags and signs. Great reaction from passer's-by, and the local TV station sent a reporter who talked with the kids. I just stood back in the shadows, with my eyesight a little blurry.

Took the smoker down south 30 minutes to Grace Community Assembly in Branson. 4:15 am was early this morning. We smoked about 40 Tri Tips and 40 slabs of pork Ribs. Church family ate well today. We finished up at 12:15 and had a fun time out in the 36 degree morning air.
We had a big portable fire pit with a raging fire. They had a leadership merit lockin Saturday and we had 12 boys going wild at 5:30 am.
What a day of fun and made the RR outpost a easy 1000.00 for their adventures!

Now I leave for our RR tonight. I did get a few hour nap this afternoon. I have Sorgum basted Tri Tips in on the counter...anyone what to come over?

Post by Phillip Gross November 21st 2016, 10:06 pm

My daughter Elizabeth has been horse crazy since she was a wee little girl (she's 10 now). We waited a few years to see if it was just a passing phase, but when it didn't we started her in horseback riding lessons last year for her "big" Christmas present. This past weekend she entered her first dressage and equitation competition (she rides English style) and did very well!

The first of the three categories she competed in was only two riders and she got second... because when they had to post with their backs to the judges, her horse moved. Oh well.

She placed 5th in both of the other two categories she entered, BUT there were between 12-15 competitors in each of those categories. The fact that she placed in those categories in her first outing against riders who have been riding in multiple competitions made me very proud!

Just like with baseball (when Seth started playing), I had no idea of what the rules were and what is good or bad, but I'm learning. She's not quite ready for her own horse yet, so we're going to continue just having her ride the horses at the stable that she takes lessons at, but... I see horses in our future if she continues to excel and be responsible. I've told her that while I can build fences, barns, and plant hay in the field, I will not be taking care of a horse and that will fall solely on her shoulders.

So does anyone have experience with horses? It will still be awhile before we dive completely in, but I'm starting to research breeds and figure things out before it's time to pull the trigger. I have no doubt that she'll eventually migrate to show jumping as well, so I'll be looking for a good horse that can manage multiple disciplines. Not to mention, if the poo ever hits the fan, having an alternative mode of transportation might come in handy. Wink
