Fall. The turning of the leaves around here is the dying-of-thirst variety, brown instead of reds and oranges.

Getting cooler here. Indians are back for 10 game stretch. They have been selling out games so good for Uber business. Just got two glow signs plug into my dc outlets to advertise and help pax ID my car for pickups. Working all 5-2pm shifts for 3 weeks straight will help with making uber $$$.

Few weeks I plan to use uber downtown Cleveland for the free Dr David Jeremiah event at Cavs arena with Mercy me.  Knowing the area well I have a free public lot I can park and take my first uber ride up to $20 free to the Arena to avoid the $15-$20 parking fee. I figure I can afford to keep the ride just below $20 using a referral code and order a high end uber black car. Friend will setup his rider acct under my code to get $20 ride back to my car and I will get $5 kickback to pay half my gas running to Cleveland.

Last kick at the can for camping with the family this weekend. At least the rain stopped. It seems like we got hit with a strange month of weather in August. It was Hot and dry to start with, campfire ban and all. Usually we get the campfire ban in July. Then Monday of last week God opened up a can of rain and dumped it on us that finally emptied out last night. It put out the fire on the uninhabited island across the water that we could see.

Rain, rain and more rain for the whole Labor Day weekend. I'm not complaining, because we needed it. But along with the mid-40s temps, we had to adjust our plans. Instead of a BBQ, we're getting ready to eat an indoor brunch. If you've got the day off, enjoy!

Slept in until 7:30, which was nice. Just taking it easy the rest of the day doing little odds and ends. Not really getting into anything extreme. Trying to learn how to relax instead of staying ultra busy all the time. I think the fact that I haven't been feeling well lately is helping that goal.

We had a lady come up and ask if she could make some extra money pulling weeds and weed eating our yard. My wife said yes..it's her job by choice.

So Sunday afternoon I rested up while this lady was out pulling weeds along bothsides of my house. Our house doesn't quite allow a lawnmower to be be ridden on either side. So it gets wild sometimes. About once a year I clean it out...this year I am FREE ! YES!

So sometimes it's good to rest up.
Today however is a different story. Working the holiday for the 2.5 times the pay. Cha Ching.

Pays for my Ranger Activities.

The 2.5 times pay sounds like a good uber surge rate to me. I spent 15 hrs between sat/sun overnight and 12 to 10pm sun (15 hrs) making $308 plus $18 tips about $300 after gas. Sun was great we had an air show on Lake Erie, concert W 6th St, Indians pull ahead 3 runs in bottom of 9th, and Oktoberfest Sat & Sun too. Finally Uber is giving surges in fares at the airport to match demand. Better make the $$$ while we can the future is coming with driverless cars. I think with those cars we will see private ownership fade away. Might even play into the climate change agenda.

Another of Obambi's "last ones" this weekend. He's in China, attending a G20 meeting with his peers. While every other world leader literally got the red carpet treatment, he was forced to deploy Air Force One's rear door to exit the aircraft. And then the Philippines' president called him a SOB and his comments went downhill from there.

Cue the Rodney Dangerfield clip..."I don't get no respect!" All that bowing and scraping for years. What did he think the result would be?

After 34% taxes and my wife getting the other 50% my Ranger budget increased 150. I am happy with that. That is several outings of expenses for a days work. She likes it real well. GRIN!

It's a sad thing to see  our country our leadership being so disrespected.  Our Ranger program and our country has kinda fallen along the same "Whimpy" trail.  Neither are what they used to be and it's such a easy fix in both cases.  Our Country needs leadership like Trump "Make America Great Again"  and our Rangers need to get our niche back (Church Scouting Program with a focus on Jesus Christ)  and be known for something and being tough.

We got a public letter to our So. Mo. Leaders list asking where all the leaders were at Pow Wow.  Events were not being ran.  It kinda pointed the blame at us for not stepping up.  I looked at it like Camporama.   3200 folks there.  It has been as high as 6000.  Take the focus off camping part spread out and be all and all to everyone and soon those that DON'T camp won't be there.... and the rest of it implodes all around us.   It's a no brainer to me.

Our country needs GOOD LEADERSHIP  and our Rangers need to go back to what worked.
I think the Phillipines president called him the son of a wh_re. That's pretty disrespected.

Going to NRMC this weekend. Hopefully there will be some time to talk to staff.

Remember the $400 million payout to Iran? That was entirely in cold cash and led to the release of American hostages waiting on the airport tarmac? Yeah, the ransom money.

A couple weeks ago, it was unveiled that another $1.3 billion had also been paid to the Iranians. And yesterday the AP revealed that it was also in cash. Completely untraceable, and probably going to fund a variety of terrorist operations. SOS John Kerry (who served in Vietnam) even admitted that.

Our government's leaders have no ability to look down the road for the consequences of their actions. That nuclear deal that was supposed to lead to "peace in our time"? Their patrol craft in the Strait of Hormuz are daily challenging our vessels, trying to provoke a reaction. Production of enriched uranium has accelerated. And experts say the Iranians are within a year of having nuclear weapons.

Obama won't have to deal with the consequences. Will his successor tackle the problems that he created? Or will the next president stick his/her head in the sand until it melts into glass?

Tomorrow is Patriot Day. And across America, there are NFL players-only meetings being held to determine if entire teams are going to do the "Kaepernik."

Yeah, things have been pretty tough for the black community...especially for the last 7 1/2 years. After decades of progress and a fast-growing black middle class, it all came to a screeching halt with the implementation of Obama regulations and executive orders. That's who they should be protesting, not the American flag.

A young lady posted a video of herself at a sporting event, while the national anthem was playing. She said that she was in the Navy, but as a black woman, she wasn't going to honor the anthem until she knew America had her back.

Her CO wasn't amused and is taking her to Captain's Mast. For you landlubbers out there, it's non-judicial punishment. #1: I hope no one upstairs pressures him to drop his intention, and #2: the sailor needs appropriate punishment...like being part of the flag detail at 8am and sunset...for the next 45 days.

My wife says that on tonight's episode of Dancing With The Stars, a protestor rushed the stage during the judging of Lochte's routine. He's the guy who was a less than stellar ambassador for America at the Rio Olympics. I was incensed when the show announced that he would be one of the celebrity contestants.

But someone else in the family said it best. Let America vote him off the show at the earliest opportunity. I hope they do.

Dan that sounds about like my weekend. It blew in Saturday early morning about 2:30 am hit with a mighty blowing wind Poured rain blew over our dinning shelter, road was blocked by huge tree down. Sleeping bags were soaked. We were with out power from Friday at 8:30 to Sunday noon when we left for home after NRMC. GRIN!

They had power everywhere else but none down at our Patrol Camp. Not one ioda of 120 volts AC. WE Survived! It was nice to have breakfast at the lodge that morning.

NRMC was one of the best camps I have ever attended. It was truly a very good camp. One of the best positive experiences I have ever been on with National Rangers. Karl our National Commander and staff were all just nailing it. I know Jesus was pleased with this event.

In all the teaching only one small part of it with the Jim Allen public confession was not in my agreement of what the Bible says. Yet they mean well and want to help. Holy Spirit can help us so much better than telling any man. The Pastor that lead me to the Lord told me a long time ago. "Don't tell me your sins, I will remember you for them. Tell them to God. He is the only one that can fix them anyway." The camp was awesome. The men were MEN!

Dan o I am sorry for the storm damage. Hope that yard cleanup and siding fixing goes fast.

Its the storms in our life that make "Living the Adventure" not boring. Karl inspired me with "Live the Adventure" I felt God's blessing in this. Take your boys and girls outside the walls of the church and LIVE the Adventure! It's exciting. 11 continuous weeks of Rangers..almost half way through them. Trainings, Meetings, FCF, Outpost events. District Events. It's a wild ride.

I got home sunday evening from our first Ranger Meeting for 6 weeks due to summer break. Installed the Patrol System in our ER and AR groups. Brought Hot MCDONALD COOKIES HOME TO MY WIFE as a surprise offer. Did I win big time or what! NRMC was a WIN WIN!

What is a Jim Allen public confession?

Jim Allen was on national staff at one point. He makes a public confession of his prior addiction to Porn and its effects on his marriage. It was played at Camporama 2012 and at the NRMC's. I can see it played at an all mens event like NRMC but not at COR12 with boys as young as 9 yrs old. Either way its used to promise the Christian group therapy known as "accountability partners".
