Yes, I'll be the new "John Hancock" in the third American revolution haha. I'll add desert tan mags and stock to keep Chris's mama from a coronary.

China has a population of approximately one Billion.
The Chinese Army uses ChiCom Type 56 Assault Rifles (AK-47's).
Therefore the Army of a Billion Chinese uses the AK-47. Now, can you argue with that kind of success?

One of my son's friends has one. He shot up 500 rounds through it on July 4th out in the woods. What does a round cost?

You can get bulk ammo for the AK-47 (7.62x39) for as cheap as $0.27 +/- per rnd. So he blew off $140 +/- depending on what he had.

If all one billion Chinese are atheist they are wrong haha. Glad there is a growing church there underground.
I love both worlds and both have their place. AR/M4 has come a long way since the early days of the 1960's. If poop hits the fan its good to have weapons many calibers for compatibility.

Re: New AK-47 added to my collection or scary black rifles
It's not the black rifle that causes fear but the person holding it.
Tell me if you hear this one..the man who the AK-47 is named after regrets having made it. His name has been tied, albeit inadvertently, to so much death and distruction in the world.

Well, if it hadn't been the Kalashnikov, it would have been the Browning, FN, Winchester, or Simonov.
Mikhail just happened to be at the Right Place with the Right Idea at the Right Time.
It's just that a battle rifle designed for uneducated Russian Peasants can be readily adapted to a bunch of barefoot stone-age muttonheads.

Re: New AK-47 added to my collection or scary black rifles
The ole Winchester widow felt bad too for the death resulting from their lever actions. There was death long before gunpowder. If ya wanna blame somebody we can find a lot of people to point at.
Canadarangers I Agree but open your jacket to reveal pistol its pandemonium for a some people. Mostly people don't notice. Those who do notice are positive about it.
Now rifles are a different thing altogether.

Re: New AK-47 added to my collection or scary black rifles
I guess I should make it know that am not against possessing, using or owning firearms, I believe that they do serve a purpose in the hands of those who are properly trained and screened. You only hear about the bad shootings, where people are killed. You never hear about the good one's like who won the top shot in a competitive match. Like I said It's not the rifle I am afraid of it's the person holding it.
I love nothing more then shooting. I wish I could do it more often. My favourite rifle was an old WW2 Lee Enfield Mk4 .303 I used in my early years in the Canadian Army Cadet program.

I just traded away a .303 SMLE about 2 years ago toward a Handi-Rifle in .35 Whelen.
I've got a bunch of surplus powder that needs to be shot up, and that .35 with a 230 grain bullet does a nice job of gobbling up the powder.

Re: New AK-47 added to my collection or scary black rifles
I'd like to eventually add a similar 7.62 to my AR collection.
