Council of Achievement COA to night.
Our year end COA. It's been busy this past 2 weeks. Recorded and printed certifcates for 240 some merits and advancements and certs. Did power points for some 60 boys for Awards Ceremony. Pulled up pictures from Pow Wow and a promo for Regatta. Put it all on the outpost laptop.
We had a great idea come accross the Div Meeting last Friday night. Make your age group transistions match the school systems calendar. So it makes sense. Any of you do this?
Summer has been busy Since last COA. 3 floats, Pow Wow and Rendezvous and one Leadership camp. Wow. I am going to take this weekend off... going to pull the carberator off the lawn mower and clean it. GRIN! Well maybe...might have to go floating sometime this weekend..GRIN!

We do this, but the only issue I could ever see is if a boy fails a grade in school. What do you do then???

We run a 9-month program, starting up the Wed after Labor Day, and finishing the Wed before Memorial Day. Pretty much the same as the school year (and no meeting during spring break). I run my age groups as:
RK - Kindergarten and 1st (the official 3-year span is unmanageable unless you have lots of leaders to split up the kids)
DR - 2nd through 4th
AR - 5th and 6th
Never had to deal with a kid repeating a grade. Ranger-wise, I run the two older groups a year early anyway.
