Re: Royal Rangers Germany
I wish more pastors and preachers had that unique balance of presenting strong truth with love, hope, and faith. The greatest of these things to have is Love. I know how it feels to get slapped with condemnation bereft of Love. Too many preachers lean far to the right or left.

Well-Put. Someone should write that down some place.
You can put the truth in front of someone, without slapping him in the face with a Wet Carp.

Re: Royal Rangers Germany
We have ran JLTA (Or in Singapore, we now called it Youth Leadership Camp) with girls and female commanders (Who must have NTC completed) attending and serving! I can proudly say that they are all not weak but strong! Back in outpost we have also female group commanders! God never make anyone weak! Is only people who think and make themselves weak!
Coed have blessed my outpost where we can see different view, but also bear in mind that Female Commanders handle the girls during mentoring sessions.
I guess we should really look at the potential that God has placed in everyone of us, not based on one perception of their limitation, and serve with the greatest capacity that we could to allow God's work to be done.
Having said that, different outpost have different way of running and might serve a different purpose in church, but the ultimate goal is to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and women and lifelong servant leaders. So whatever that can bring you there, do it! Let's not compare but rather with prayer and petition, we will all get there!

Re: Royal Rangers Germany
The way female commanders mentor girls are amazing, they can bake while checking the rangers life, shopping, etc... But essentially making sure that they impart and ensure that areas of mentees life are align with God. Which is important as certain topic the mentees might felt that speaking to a same gender commander will be better.
Though we have cases where male commander mentor girl(s) but it was also done in an open space where others can see (yet not hear) or it will be done in a group.
At times female commanders also feedback certain areas of the way/ time when a guy speaks to girl has to be more thoughtful which we guys would normally felt it is "alright", vice versa. This helps the male rangers not only study manner lesson in JTC (JLC in Singapore), but also apply it even back at outpost or everywhere they are.
A female commanders has also given insight to what will benefit the programme better as personally they are more artistic and detailed (at least this is what i have observed in my outpost)

Re: Royal Rangers Germany
Sounds reasonable and fair. Something I can believe could work here.

Re: Royal Rangers Germany
I suppose that if we had a coed outpost, when we go camping and the boys get scared by the wind shaking their tent, I couldn't say that their patrol name is "The Bluebells" any more.

That is the way I have wanted to run our Outpost for the last 4 years...but I have not had enough Commanders to pull it off.

I realised as I served, more often than not we would dream, plan, execute the plan and set the pace according to what we wanted. Do bare in mind when we serve, we are not executing our plan but His. Withdrew to lonely places and pray (like Jesus did, Luke 5:16) over his direction for individual outpost . For his way are higher then ours and we are to keep in pace and direction with him, letting him take you for a "joy ride" as you serve. Do not be discourage, for His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you, plans that will give you hope and a future. Press on and enjoy the ride with Him!
