Dear Organizational Leaders:

Thanks for a great LEAD14 and Mentoring Future Men Conference!

Your faithfulness is not only encouraging but is also enabling national, regional, and district leadership to remain in alignment. Together we are building momentum and growth.

Over the last 12 months, we have seen the following: 17% increase in Royal Rangers sales; 66% increase in number of TRaCclub tracks sold; 4% increase in overall outpost charters; and 37% increase in NEW outpost charters. These increases are a trend we started to see shortly following the 2012 National Camporama (which was our best attended ever).

Thank you for your leadership! We are influencing more boys and young men than ever, more effectively than ever!

Doug Marsh
National Director, Royal Rangers

NEW EMPLOYEE
Royal Rangers welcomes Brett Harrison to the training/medals/chartering assistant position. He is from the northern Kansas City area. He graduated from Evangel University in 2009 and from Assemblies of god Theological Seminary in 2012. He came to us from Assemblies of God Credit Union. He can be reached at rrtraining@ag.org or rrawards@ag.org. Please welcome Brett.

LEAD14
The guest speakers’ presentations are available at http://royalrangers.com/lead/.

QUICK START GUIDE
Please direct new churches to the Quick Start Guide on the national website at http://royalrangers.com/start/. This resource will be available soon in print format.

NATIONAL RENDEZVOUS
Be sure to continue to share the word about Rendezvous on July 14-18, 2014. Your leaders and young men can register and learn all of the exciting details of the new activities and competitions for this Rendezvous at http://nationalrendezvous.com/. They can sign up for the Rendezvous Café meals or purchase discounted ticket to Silver Dollar City.

FCF
At LEAD14, new requirements for FCF membership and advancement were announced. The following statement describes the transition from the current to the new system: “A Royal Rangers member may join the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship or advance under the old or the new Trail of the Grizzly requirements until December 31, 2014. As of January 1, 2015, all new memberships and advancements will be under the new Trail of the Grizzly requirements only, as described in the 2014 edition of the FCF Handbook.”

JUNIOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING
We have added two PowerPoints in the District Director/Regional Staff AGPassport level. One is the Junior Training Update, presented in the general session at LEAD. The second is the Junior Training Development Outline, presented at the combined District Director & Junior Training Breakaway.

TRACCLUB
Leadership 105 was released last week on TRaCclub.

STAFF NEEDED FOR NRMC - BELIZE, JANUARY 2015
We are planning a National Ranger Ministry Camp in the country of Belize on January 16-18, 2015. Staff, of course, will need to fly in earlier in the week. The goal is to draw leaders from multiple Central American, South American, and Caribbean countries to this training.

The plan is to conduct a simultaneous English/Spanish NRMC. To accomplish this, we need NA/NAA certified instructors and key staff members to volunteer now. We will need bilingual men in some key positions and at least one in each of the skills areas on Saturday, as we plan on teaching the Core Competency classes combined. We may teach alternate classes for Air Rifle and Archery due to local restrictions. (We may do Sports.)

Rick Barnhouse, Gulf Region training coordinator, is leading the team that will complete the Training Academy process in Belize by 2016 so they will have their own certified instructors to run future events. This NRMC is the next major step in the process. If you would like to be considered for the 2015 training team, please contact Rick via email at rangerick@windstream.net. Be sure to include your certification levels and core competencies because we will be multi-tasking at this camp.

2014 NSSP AMBASSADOR
My name is Luke Cooper. I am the eldest son of David and Lisa Cooper. When I was 5 years old, I started Royal Rangers at First Assembly of God in Independence, MO. I was so excited. When I was in the 5th grade, my family moved to Ozark, MO, and we started attending James River Assembly. Here I earned the Gold Medal of Achievement.

Our family started attending our current church, Life360 Church in Springfield, so that we could continue to be involved in Royal Rangers. I am a junior leader at Life360 Church and believe I have grown much more through the influence of some very strong men of God. I am currently an Expedition Ranger and am on my way to earning the Honor Gold Medal of Achievement.

I am currently a Sporter shooter on my school’s rifle team. Through shooting, I plan to attend one of the three military academies or become an Olympic Shooter. At the rate I’m going, I may have a very good chance to shoot on the Precision Shooting Team. I do plan for a career in the armed services as an officer. Then after I retire, I plan to buy a farm/ranch and raise cattle, horses, and possibly some crops.

WINS
Just wanted to let you know that you have an extraordinary team of men for Rangers training. This past Saturday, March 22, 2014, we had our first training (Ranger Basics) at the House of Prayer. These men came in like a well oiled machine with positive, can do attitudes. They are certainly great assets to the Royal Rangers. A big thank you to: Rockie Miller, Russ Hayden, Mark McAninch, and Rob Martin.

I would like to see hard numbers from all the years to see the trend. I'd also like to know if they're using the same formula as always.

Even more changes on top of changes. How can the average commander in the field keep up? No courtesy response from national on my recommendation a few weeks ago...how to make changes easily accessible, so that any commander can update his handbooks with the latest and greatest.

He threw out a lot of statistics there. I wonder what percentage of the improvements have been from AG churches? Or is it mostly growth from allied churches?

Could be Church of God churches adopting Royal Rangers for first time.

Anybody can make the numbers look good. If you increased your outpost count from 100 to 104, that's a gain of 4%. And does a larger gain of allied churches mask an overall loss of AG churches? From a comparison of the two numbers above, one might wonder if the 33% deficit is from the number of churches giving up on the program. I could throw out several more questions, but what's the point? Without real data to compare, it's worthless.

This is S-o-o-o-o much like Obamacare.

If they gave us the total number of Outposts and the total number of New Outposts, we could see Who is going Where.

But...... "Those numbers aren't available right now."

Hum... seems to be a few things that just are not in alignment.

When I look around my preceived reality says there just isn't as many Royal Rangers as their was. Not even half has many. Prehaps my preceived reality just needs realignment so I can see the world class outpost picture.

I agree. They are saying Obamacare is a succcess and were all doing a double and triple "What you talking about Willis?"

Mark Twain said it best. There are facts then statisitics and then liars.

I have seen this very thing in action at my work. We all know better than what they are saying and yet it's how they statisitically analized it to show what they want to show but do a quick flash of the hand so the illussion keeps you guessing. Generally the leave out the data they don't want shown. Percentages are miss leading often because they throw out the things they don't want in the percentage calculation.

2012 Camporama fell short in many ways compared to others I had personally been at.

I wished it was as good as it's written up to be. That would be a blessing.

To me this is either perceived reality, or Church of God stats being used to mask the losses in AG Rangers/sales or a bit of both

Especially in the charters...37% increase in new charters??
using Church of God stats?  hard to say

but since 2010 is the last year any hard stats were released for Royal Rangers, I guess we wont know.

I agree with Mark, there are a lot less Rangers around here than there were 5 years ago.

Our number of charters went up in our district but the numbered of charterd folks is way down.

If we got back to being known like we were..."Church Boyscouts with a focus on Jesus Christ" we would be growing again. I would like to see the staff cut back and the Marriot program brought back cut out the writing and use Good bible Study materials No time traveler stuff.

That was a great program. Punt WCO and the psyco tests.
