Saints I Have Known

Post by joecool on May 17th 2014, 9:37 pm

This thread is for us to recognize those men and women that have inspired and encouraged us, in their service to the Lord.

Ron grew up on a sharecropper's farm, fighting floods and tornadoes in Oklahoma. He joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam, intending to make the military a career. But a physical's results changed all that and he was medically discharged. He was an entrepreneur before the word was created, starting a worm farm, a bee hive business and growing palm trees. He also went to college and earned a business degree. For a time, he worked for the Veteran's Administration. He was the son of a preacher, and Ron served the Lord as well. He became a Christian school teacher and later a school principal. Along the way, he also earned a ministerial degree and pastored three churches.

Though there weren't many years between us, I always considered him as my mentor. He's still around, a true servant and prayer warrior, and he's writing of his life experiences in order to encourage others. The title of his first book? "I'm Blind. What's Your Excuse?"

A fellow named Mark
Who taught me,to put my trust in the Lord, not in man, what works & what doesn't, not to follow a person blindly just because they have a ministerial credential & much much more.

He is a tireless worker, always ready to jump in & lend a hand. Always ready to lift up a child.

I have never met Mark in person, but I can talk to him right here & on the phone  Cool
