Are you still considering that Ohio trip to buy that bike with the savings you made from listening to the Lord?
Ha! No. After I texted with you about it I had a feeling a couple nights later that I shouldn't purchase that bike and that it isn't the right time for me to get back into racing. Little did I know of the events that were to unfold at the time, but I had an unrest in my spirit about plunging back into the racing scene.

There are some other things going on right now that I could use some prayer from you guys about. I don't feel a release from the Lord to discuss it presently, but it has to do with ministry and a direction that I've had in my spirit for the past few years. We may have some big changes in store soon. It isn't related to Rangers, so don't think the outpost is in danger or anything, but it will be a big step for our church. Please pray that God will make things clear to us. There are things in life that are great things, but if the Lord isn't in it completely then it can be disastrous. I want to make sure it's not just a "good" idea, but a "God" idea....

I'll post details as I feel released to do so.

That can be a tough thing.  For many Pentecostals, the Holy Spirit's Voice and their own Inner Voice sound a lot alike, and they sometimes confuse the two (even to the point of accusing anyone who disagrees with their feelings as "Squelching the Holy Spirit").

But it's funny.  Sometimes a person may feel that something is God's Will, it turns out to be disastrous in the Short-Term, but things turn out better later for the decision.

So I guess the best course is to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, but also use the Wisdom and Discernment that He has blessed you with.

He gave you hands to play the guitar and lead Worship in your Church.  Do you think that he has done any less with your Brain?

and

When things go bad, "Adapt and Overcome".  We had our Color Guard and Posting of the Flag at the beginning of the Service today.  Everything had been rehearsed, and things were going great until my "Eagle Scout Candidate" decided to flip the flags when they got up onto the Church Platform, because "...that's how they did it in Scouts".

The only problem was that they crossed each other prior to going up the steps, so they were already "flipped".  So the U.S. and Christian Flags were on the wrong sides of the Platform.

First reaction: Panic.  Second reaction: Get Angry.  Third reaction: Adapt & Overcome (this was all in the course of about 2 1/2 seconds).  I just walked down the Center Aisle of the Church, in Uniform, and directed the boys to flip the flags back, before they had a chance to get down from the Platform.

Then they carried on with "Present Arms, National Anthem, Order Arms, and Column-of-Twos March out of the Sanctuary".

The Congregation thought that it was cute.  Back in the Ranger Room, we just had a Briefback (no anger or stern correction) about how we need to do the ceremony the way that they were instructed & practiced, and not to deviate based upon Past Experiences.

Re: May Greetings 2014

Maybe this should be on the prayer thread. I've put my heart and soul into a Christian school here for a full decade. The last year has been as a thrice-weekly volunteer, giving college counseling, etc. I've had some success in getting grants, the most recent of which will allow us to completely upgrade the computer lab, from workstations to laptops to wireless everything. I was able to "sell" the grant by linking it to two things that the foundation holds near and dear. The plan was for me to make it all happen by teaching a year-long course, again as a volunteer.

So today I find out that the elective course won't be scheduled, due to things that the administrators don't have the energy to work out. The school has been in a deep hole for several years, and though it isn't getting any deeper, it just seems like they can't find a toehold to start climbing out. They can't get more students, because they don't have anything to offer. And they don't have anything to offer, because they don't have the students (and their tuition). A vicious circle that they're stuck in. Such a long story that you don't have the time to read.

Right now, my heart is telling me to walk away and put what's left of my good years into something else. Tomorrow I'll get out of my funk and start listening to what the Lord wants to tell me.

Bruce, if you put your efforts into a Godly Cause with Good Intentions and Stewardship, it's never a waste.

WE tend to measure our goodness by our success. God measures it by our hearts.

Enjoying family vacation in
Florida. No real cell coverage where we are

"RV" ing. I had some excitement. My fridge access door blew off on the trip down here... so we turned around and found it in pieces and I ductaped it back together. "WE" be traveling now! grin!

Enjoying the rest and fun on the beach.
St. Joseph in Florida. Nice place. Campground is covered with tropical foliage. Arleady saw more critters than the zoo has. GRIN!

Gotta run were heading back towards the campground.

Just got a call from my younger son up north. He and his wife want to meet us for dinner halfway on Friday to give us the girl-or-boy news. That cancels a 5th wheel trip this weekend with quasi-relatives, but that's okay. Don't like the gypsy camp environment anyway.

This week I hit the 265 lbs mark. In 14 weeks I've lost 35 lbs! A lot of people at work are noticing.

Fantastic! A fellow coworker recently challenged me to race to the time clock. I left her in the dust halfway to the clock. I wasn't heaving badly. I was doing pretty good. She's challenging me to a rematch!

Tuesday night I sent an e-mail to the principal, saying that we'll have to give the computer lab grant back, since we won't be able to use it for the intended purpose. That's true, but the real reason for sending it was to see if it prompted any action. I got a call from him this morning. He's working to make the course happen after all.

I finally have the praise report I've been waiting for. After three LONG years at a job I took because I had been unemployed for 6 months and "it'll due till I find something better" I finally found that something better.

Still collections work, but with a smaller firm, not a conglomo. Much friendlier atmosphere, no nights, no weekends, & a 20% pay raise!

We've decided to take the month of July off this summer from RR/AHG meetings. We had very few during the summer last year and we already know that several will be on vacations coming up, so we're going to suspend meetings. We're still such a young outpost, so we're trying different things to see how it goes. We may or may not repeat it next summer based on how it affects attendance when we restart in August.

For those who take a summer break, do you find that most/all come back, or do you lose kids?
