My 20 year old son is turning 21 this Friday night. He wanted a 2 night backpack. YET God has been great and provided a job at the Branson Zip Lines. Out of 50 he was one of 10 picked. Today is his first day there.

So we cut our original trip back to one night and 10 miles. This not an official RR trip. It's mainly My son and 6 of his friends and me and my backpacking buddy Rob and his 10 year old son.

We will be backpacking down from the Compton trail head at 2200 feet. Drop down to the top of Hememend in Hollow falls about 1400 feet and camp at the cliff over look of the Buffalo River valley. (First place I took my son backpacking at 10). He wanted to hang his hammock between 2 trees up there We are mainly taking hammocks and a couple of tents. Lots of trees and almost no flat.

Saturday we will lower packs with a rope and then backpack with 9 river crossings to our relay vehicle. It will be fun.

Weather is 80 with low of 61 30% chance of rain. River shoes will be a must as these river crossings can be waist deep. Woo Whooo Fun!

Woo Whoo Rangers! Going out tonight for a challenge. My son turns 21 today and we are going backpacking and he has no interest in going out to a bar. God is GREAT!

Report and pictures of the roughest backpack I have ever done. It was extreme for the first 2 miles. The 9 river crossings were nice in the warmer temps.

Wanna see what Mark Jones looks like when he is whooped. I mean tuckered. I mean seeing spots. I mean about 1/4" from calling out..God I need your help...but He gave me the good sense to drink some water and take off my shirt and lay down for about 4 minutes..then I was ready to go again...Whooped.

Most people my age wouldn't have gone down that thing. GRIN! I know I sure wont' again. Ha!
