Re: LEAD conference 2014

Post by RRCmdrBennett on March 2nd 2014, 8:46 pm

With exception of page 100 in Guy's Journey dealing with accountability partners I find it ok. Its a book of memories and lessons Doug has learned. Even the bible has many accounts of men's ups and downs.

I think the leadership merits need to be "jelled" down nd less schoolish, no handouts. The games and exercises were fun.

I think I have 101-104 that have been given out. At least that is what I have in the Ranger Database for leadership merits so far.

I have a keen sense and I noticed that years ago.

Seems you can't go far without seeing 666 everywhere. From Monster energy logo (catchphrase "unleash the beast"), www=666, to barcodes where the beginning middle and ending dividers are just really long 6's.

We had snow last night so we didn't have church or rangers so I didn't get in on the latest yet. Will ask around this week for any updates or cool stuff.

Not much has changed. A new FCF handbook. Merits for FCF maybe changing.

Several new GMA's that have never been camping.

ROTY is not being developed. I will look over the info this weekend most likely.

Rodger, looked over what our District Commander brought back The new FCF handbook looks good Just wish with the included New Merit Pictures there where the Requirements -(Probably another Track Club purchase) but from how he explained it such as forging your own hawk is a requirement for one to they may be challenging ones worth their addition. with additional advancement levels of medallions for every 4 of the new merits completed and changing the Service projects from pins to medals. should be interesting to see if they catch

There are new FCF merits?

I don't think Mark was bragging about GMA's never camping.

Chris B. the merit requirements should be listed on national web site. The reference guides with 5 lesson plans would be in whatever appropriate track they belong to. Since they're new you can only get guides online.

What are some of the new FCF merits?  I remember some of us from Rangerforums suggested more frontier related merits specific to our time period. All the merits in FCF trail of grizzly can apply to our modern times.  Anthony Hubbard shot the idea down. It wouldn't be the first time our ideas were shot down and then embraced as some new and improved idea they had...
