I lost a good Ranger yesterday morning.
My 4 year 10 month sheltie named Ranger passed on yesterday morning. He had a enlarged heart and wasn't supposed to make it a year. We had almost 5 years with him.
God gives us great friends in pets. They give us joy along with a job taking care of them. They share their love in the good and the bad times. Make us laugh and cry.
Ranger was a good dog. Always a wagging tail greeting dog. My wife has been crying for 2 days.
My son and I dug his grave last night and we had a short ceremony thanking God for pets.
We still have one female sheltie named Lilly. She is 6. A hefty little girl Yet she is precious. We have here on a diet plan to get her back to her normal self. She was twice as big as she should have been.
I figure another sheltie will soon show up. It's the Jones way. 2 shelties deep is the rule.

I'm sure most of us have been where you're at, Mark. We had a schnauzer for almost 16 years. He made the move to Montana with us, so he's still here in a copse of Ponderosa pines. Even after 8 years have gone by, I don't like being within sight of his pile of rocks. Still makes the eyes water, like right now. Glad you still have another. One of these days I'll get back in there. "A dog a day keeps the doctor away."

Re: I lost a good Ranger yesterday morning.
sorry to hear that Mark
Now how that is, had a cat that was with us for 16 years
We lost a Ranger this week too....a human Ranger that is.
one of our Adventure Rangers decided she didn't want to do Rangers anymore.
She has been one of our best Rangers & Jr. Leaders. But, for the last 3 months she has had a bad attitude & complained a lot. Her sister says she is "going through a phase".

Ya. Commanders have been coming and going my whole Ranger life. Only a handful stay for a life time.
I am blessed. I have a great group that have been involved before I started and they are a great resource and their dedication inspires me to stay true to the calling of God for me.
