Politically motivated trials and investigations, aliens invading (the extra-terrestrial kind), and squirrels! everywhere you look. So many distractions are out there, trying to keep us from concentrating on what's really important: Keeping our families, churches and communities faithful to the King of Kings.

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." (1 Peter 3:12)

(Welcome back, Claymore.)

For every moving violation ticket that is written, 99 other people got away with their unsafe actions. For every politician that is caught having sex with a Chinese spy...wait a minute, Swalwell got away with it, too.

I bring that up because two US Navy sailors were just arrested and charged with espionage. It wasn't revealed if their cases were related, but they're both in Southern California. One of them had already been paid by the Chinese for classified information relating to our amphibious ships. (That's personal, and increases my level of anger.)

The clock is ticking. The Chinese know that they may only have 17 months left to carry out an invasion of Taiwan that wouldn't be opposed by Biden's America. The 1% of what we know about the Biden connections to China is overshadowed by the 99% of the rest of the unrevealed story, which can likely be used as blackmail by the Communists.

Update: Both of the sailors have Chinese first/last names. At least one of them was naturalized just last year. I'd hate to be their recruiters. I'd hate to be the FBI workers that gave them security clearances. Standards have fallen so far these last few years.

Well, I finally finished my backyard project: a solar-powered "waterfall" into a pond. At last, I have waterfront property. Unfortunately, the sun has taken a couple of days off.

That is unbelievably sad. China is robbing us blind & are paying our leaders to turn a blind eye

They might have been "moles", or they might have done it under duress of threats to their families, back in China. Either way, we should start taking trade away from China.

Biden won't do it. He's too busy giving them sweetheart deals that nobody can figure out a reason for. WE have to do it. To the best of your ability, look for "Made in the USA" on the product. Or delay your purchase. Anybody know what percentage of our prescription meds are made in China? It's a high number, and it makes us vulnerable. We need to bring all
manufacturing back to the US. Yes, our products will cost more, but the money stays at home, instead of funding the Communist military buildup. I like Shark Tank, but I hated it when the investors always told the inventors they had to make their products in China.

August 2023 Thread Empty Re: August 2023 Thread

Post by joecool August 6th 2023, 3:07 pm

E-mails, phone calls, and in person requests didn't work. Trying to mentor a few prospects over the past year didn't work. So we had a ministry fair today. Not a single person signed up to teach kids or adult classes for the coming year. Those who have helped out in the past say that it's the younger people's turn, referring to those under 55.

Do they think they're too busy? Do their priorities need to be rearranged? Do they think they have no skills to contribute? I don't know.

All this when our church is finally growing after the Covid mess. What's the solution, or will we have to cancel planned classes? I've said before that the mid-week service will likely follow the Sunday night service into extinction. I'd hate to see it happen this year.

Any thoughts out there?

Gentlemen
After reading the thread I was trying to leave a few words of wisdom, but I found none, So I figured I would try to leave a few words of hope, I found it, it's only one word it gives us hope of a new world and a better system and no crooked politicians not sure if politicians will be allowed in or not. The word RAPTURE its coming to a location near you.

Kelly Davis,

I hope that you are right. There seem to be indications that things may be escalating into the End Times.

However,

Saint Paul expected Christ to return in his own lifetime (and he was a whole lot spiritually smarter than me).

So my personal philosophy is, "Praise the Lord, but pass the ammunition".

Pastor and I met today, He came up with a list of 7 under-50 people that he will directly ask to help with children's classes. He also has begun a search for a part-time hire (minister or layman) to oversee all the family ministries. I mentioned that our district's website has an advertising page for churches needing a senior pastor. Why not expand it to other staff openings? He already called the district and they're going to start it ASAP.

Good idea!

No need to re-invent the wheel.

For each of the lousy headlines you read, there are 99 more like it that don't make it to your eyes. And that's just in America. What a lousy world we've ended up with. More and more, there is less and less prayer. And less and less looking to the Lord for solutions to our problems. Too many give in to the world's demands in order to take the pressure off and make their lives easier.

In just a few years, we've gone from "Jesus, Take The Wheel" to "Throw Jesus Under The Bus."

Your quote "So my personal philosophy is, "Praise the Lord but pass the ammunition". Reminds me of a Prior service Marine who joined the Army as a Chaplain when asked about having to fight against the enemy to protect Americans' lives he says "I will pray for each bullet as they hit their target". That is a real Combat Chaplain.

Kelly,

I have often said that police officers are like garbage men. We do the job that society SHOULD do for themselves, but they don't have the time or resources to do.....

Look at America in the 1600's or 1700's. If a person was believed to have committed a crime, he was detained in the local roundhouse by the community, until the circuit judge came along.
