Do you prefer a paper roll, whether bathroom tp, or paper towels to roll off on top or underneath?

My wife insists on putting every roll, whether paper towels or toilet paper, on "backwards" with it rolling off the bottom. I hate it like that and change them immediately when I see it done. IMO, it hangs down too far after you've ripped off the amount you need when rolling off the bottom. What say y'all?

If you have a cat or a baby in the house, "her way" will prevent having a big wad of toilet paper on the floor.

Ediquette, is on the side of your technique, but it never bothered me, either way.

What's most important is when the last person uses the end of the roll PLEASE REPLACE IT!!! Wink

Never thought of those issues, but I can definitely see those potential issues. I have a cat allergy, so I've never had much experience with them in a home setting.

I have seen the kids make messes with the toilet paper, but we try to keep the bathroom doors shut when the baby is crawling around because he just wants to play in the water basin.... yuck! Very Happy

Absolutely agree! I remember as a kid though that that simple task seemed monumentally difficult for some reason! Laughing

Venezuela recently suffered through a nation-wide shortage of TP. Remember when a Johnny Carson joke cleared the supermarket shelves? As indispensable as TP has become, it's not that old of a product...late 19th century.

Onboard amphibious ships, a sailor's greatest fear is that the Marines will clean out all the TP just before they make a landing.

In "Flying Leathernecks", John Wayne's Master-Sergeant Maintenance Chief said to the MP'S (who were looking for a dishwasher that he took from the Seabees and put to use as a fuel transfer pump for his aircraft), "You got to watch those Mud Marines. They steal things!"

In Viet Nam, it was "liberating" Hot Sauce from the tables of the Mess Hall before we were deployed on an extended mission in the Jungle.

Since we only had C-Rations at the time, Hot Sauce was about the only thing that made them halfway palatable.

When the helicopters took off from the firebase with a company of Infantry going on a mission, I'll bet that there were 40 bottles of Hot Sauce on those UH-1's.

You can still find hot sauce in today's MREs, but it's not so much to make them palatable. We've come a long way in being able to make field rations go down on their own. Assuming the heat bags work, of course.

Next related quandary is what if the tp is mounted sideways as it is in most retail store bathrooms? Facing you or away?

There's an OSHA regulation that deals with the big, multi-roll dispensers. "Celebrating diversity, every other roll shall be oppositely installed. Failure to adhere shall result in sensitivity training."

I think both rolls are fed oppositely but never noticed it before.

If its not too off topic but related to bathrooms does anyone prefer to use a stall for #1 or a urinal? Lately, whenever I'm armed I use a stall for all. When not I use urinals or stalls.

It depends if there's other guys already at the urinal. I have a shy bladder that locks down like fort Knox when other people are around unless I've prepared myself and have to go really really bad. Laughing

I guess we could say, Dan just took this topic "down the drain"....? Laughing

Maybe down the drain but not way off topic.
