March 2024 Thread
Spring is just around the corner, right? Last night, two inches of snow on top of ice. Grrr!
A couple of days ago, I was driving about 15 miles outside of town when I saw something surprising. A herd of about 200 bison. If you've never had it's meat, it's very very lean. Got to add a lot of extras into the burger to fully enjoy it.

Bright & sunny here, looked great out the window. But, there was a cold wind a blowing. Never felt like it reached the 49 degrees that was advertised. Felt more like 35

Re: March 2024 Thread
Been taking care of my sister-in-law's dogs while she's been away. Her adult son had been on life support for a few days and he passed away this morning. Many years ago, I was in the church service when my nephew went forward to accept the Lord. But in his later teen years he seriously backslid. A quarter of a century in a bad lifestyle, including drugs. He had also cut himself off from the family for the last 15 years.
Unknown to anyone, including his Mom, he had "friended" her on Facebook last month. During his stay in the hospital, he twice regained consciousness and had tears in his eyes. First, when he saw his Mom, and the second time, when told that Jesus loved him.
I've made many attempts to contact him over the years, but never knew if my notes were getting through. Perhaps our prayers were. We can only hope that he is with Jesus now.

Re: March 2024 Thread
When I was nine or ten years old, in reference to a "lost" loved one, I asked my mother if our prayers for them were wasted.
She replied, "There's no such thing as wasted prayers.".
Good wisdom.

This doesn't pass the smell test...
Ronny Jackson is a relatively new member of Congress, a Republican from Texas. He has been quite vocal about the need for Biden to take a cognitive test. Before becoming a politician, he was a Navy rear admiral and the personal physician for Presidents Obama and Trump. And the news is leaking out that the Secretary of the Navy has reduced Jackson's retirement rank to Captain. Pay back?

Oh come now! That couldn't possibly be connected.
He speaks out suggesting the president might not be the sharpest tool in the shed & then gets reduced in rank. Sounds like business as usual with the Biden administration.
Pay back is the order of the day for anyone who dares to do anything but quote straight party line.

Darned near had the cat escape.

Careful, Claymore. PETA will track you down some day. And then they'll discover you also have a mink farm.

I'm 'bout ready to give up Mink Farming.
I've lost money, the past 2 years.
(I think that I planted them too deep.)

(From Ranger Jameskostich, requesting help from you on RangerChat...)
Is there any way you could help me reset my account? I was head and shoulders above the other soldiers going into basic training specifically because of you and the ranger program. You taught me how to shoot the same way they taught. So I didn’t have any bad habits. Land Nav, Repelling etc. I’m so grateful.
(Reply from me)
James Kostich; Let me get with Chris, the manager of the site. He's from "God's Country", much like you (Michigan). He is not on the site every day, so it might be a day or two before he gets my message. He is good with computer stuff. I call him "Internet Yoda" ("Hmmmmm, reset your computer, you must.......").
(From me, a week later)
James Kostich; Jim, I've sent a couple of messages to Chris, but haven't heard back from him. I'll try to be less subtle on the next try. (Being too subtle: That's one of my weak points.)

Sorry I was sick. His account was inactive. He is reactivated now.

Chris, thanks. I apologize for giving you a hard time when you were sick.
I didn’t know.
(Are you feeling better? Because I’ll wait until then, to give you a hard time again.)

Re: March 2024 Thread
I'm sure everyone's noticed that many companies are changing their packaging in order to keep their prices relatively constant. It's at our expense, of course, since we're actually getting smaller amounts of product. For example, a box of Raisin Bran doesn't come anywhere near to filling the Tupperware container, like it used to.
And that's not all. Last night, I went to a chicken fast food and brought it home. Getting a better grip on the soda's styro-foam cup, my fingers went right through it.
Bidenomics.
