Re: Simple Road Map?
I spoke with our state director (and FCF Chairman) tonight for a bit about our goals for getting into FCF. While there aren't any camps coming up that nonmembers can attend, he did mention that there was a good possibility that some FCF guys could come out to our outpost and put on a demonstration for us. I've got to email the president and see if there's a time that he and/or anyone else would have time to come. The fact that our outpost meetings are on Friday nights instead of Wednesday nights will most likely play in our favor again, as they won't have to miss their local meeting in order to come to ours!

You may have an invasion of mtn men, traders, and scouts coming to your church.

Re: Simple Road Map?
In FCF there is far more one-on-one relationship building going on between boys and men.
I have friends for life, just for spending a few minutes with a lad, teaching a skill, or attending an awards ceremony in kit. There are some times where its a dozen lads, but most of my experience is with a group of 8 or less, teaching, doing stuff in front of them, and telling historical stories.
RR is a weekly grind. It can be the same folks over and over again. And, NOTHING wrong with that, in fact, its very needed.
FCF can be the spin off of that, something different. It really boosts RR if done properly. FCF is like "desert" to the RR program. You dont get it all the time, you only get it if your good, its way different than the regular meal, and its really good when you get it.
If we had a canoe trip scheduled every week, it would cease to be special.
Keep in mind, remember to present FCF as a ministry. Calling it that will perk folks ears up.

Re: Simple Road Map?
A new release is going to be out soon. I cleaned my copies out of the Company Clerks Box and was told to not order any extras this year until after the new ones come out.

Sometimes new is better, but sometimes it's not...
I'll just buy another one if they're worth it.

Re: Simple Road Map?
Might be just update of the requirements for leaders training.

Re: Simple Road Map?
lol very likely, I belive Doug Marsh is on video saying something to the effect of "there are two areas we are not changing, FCF and Ranger Kids, everything is fine there, we're not going to fix it"RRCmdrBennett wrote:Might be just update of the requirements for leaders training.
Either that or they are going to make FCF 2.0 for non campers....
and no I have no idea how that would work

Re: Simple Road Map?
Noticed that the 8 FCF merits on TracClub include the Church merit, but on the FCF National site that merit has been replaced with Camping.

Feel so warm and toasty Philip!
Camping is one of the 8 required merits. It is the only Green merit needed, the rest are blue.

Re: Simple Road Map?
If you keep the entire trail of the grizzly as your core program and sprinkle in a few other merits you'll have a great ministry.
